Discworld Noir Hints
How are these hints arranged?
In the first half (Acts I and II), they're arranged by location rather than puzzle. In some cases, just listing the problem will give away the answer to another puzzle or an element of the plot ("Who killed Johnson? I thought Johnson was the murderer!"). You can generally find what you need by going to the first location where you found the puzzle and looking for it there.
In the second half (Acts III and IV), they're arranged by puzzle. By then you've been almost everywhere there is to go, and most of the major plot elements have been revealed.
