Discworld Hints

Where is the sword that goes "ting"?

  • 1 of 15: You can at least find another kind of sword in a very unlikely place.
  • 2 of 15: Chucky has it on him in the dungeon of the palace.
  • 3 of 15: You're going to have to torture it out of him.
  • 4 of 15: Too bad the rack doesn't have a crank that you could turn to stretch Chucky.
  • 5 of 15: But the well has one.
  • 6 of 15: You can remove it pretty easily.
  • 7 of 15: Just use the screwdriver to take it.
  • 8 of 15: Now use the crank to stretch Chucky and you'll get his sword.
  • 9 of 15: Next, you need to find a dwarf to tune your sword.  You should only know one "dwarf."
  • 10 of 15: Talk to the tall guard at the city gate, and he'll send you to the dwarven mines.
  • 11 of 15: Take the sword to the smith, and run your requisite errand to find his elderberry wine.
  • 12 of 15: Ask the bartender at the Broken Drum for some.
  • 13 of 15: Too bad it's so dark in the wine cellar, or else you could get the wine.
  • 14 of 15: Now that you have light down there, you should be able to get some elderberry wine from the appropriately labelled container.  Pour it into a tankard, which you can get from talking to the bartender if you don't already have one.
  • 15 of 15: Just one word of warning, though.  Your luggage will drink the wine if you give it to "him."  So make sure to carry the wine in your own personal inventory.
