Discworld Hints
How do I defeat the dragon?
of 22: You're going to need a strong weapon to hurt the dragon.
of 22: Fight fire with fire.
of 22: Even swamp dragons can be deadly if used properly.
of 22: You can get a swamp dragon out of Lady Ramkin's place.
of 22: The key to the cage is on her. Run the cursor over her and you should find it.
of 22: Then just unlock the door to the cage and find a dragon peaceful enough for you to take.
of 22: Mambo is the right one.
of 22: All you need to do now is find a way over the molten pile.
of 22: Just take the magic carpet out of your inventory and single-click to walk across the pile. Since the graphics don't show what's happening or why this works, I can't tell you any more than to just do it.
of 22: Now take Mambo.
of 22: And look for something to fuel his fire. But for whatever reason, the game wasn't recognizing that I was doing the right thing unless I did it from the town square. (At least I didn't get the full animation otherwise.)
of 22: You really want the dragon to be fiery here.
of 22: So give it something appropriate.
of 22: Put some fireworks from the crate at the city gate in Mambo.
of 22: What I had to do here was load Mambo from the town square, exit, and return, and then I got this long cut-scene as a result. If I did anything else or did things in the wrong order, I could still finish, but without the cut-scene.
of 22: Oh well, all that work, and Mambo doesn't even seem to be the answer.
of 22: Actually, he is.
of 22: Mambo has at least proven to be the dragon's "equal."
of 22: So the two might fall in love.
of 22: If you gave them a bit of magical encouragement.
of 22: The full answer to the last puzzle of the game follows.
of 22: Throw the custard pie at the dragon, and watch the closing sequence that follows after the two dragons fall in love.
