Discworld Hints

How do I get the monk's robe?

  • 1 of 17: Have you ever heard the theory that a butterfly's wings can change the weather patterns?
  • 2 of 17: This is a chance to test that theory.
  • 3 of 17: There's a butterfly in the park in L-space.
  • 4 of 17: It may not be obvious at first, but your past self's snoring is blowing the butterfly around.
  • 5 of 17: Before you can catch the butterfly, you need to stop yourself from snoring.
  • 6 of 17: Or at least from blowing on the butterfly.
  • 7 of 17: Do you remember seeing anything odd come out of your mouth back in Act I?
  • 8 of 17: Like that frog?
  • 9 of 17: Well, the frog had to come from somewhere.
  • 10 of 17: It came from the past.
  • 11 of 17: Stick the frog in your mouth (that is, the drunk version of you on the bench), and you can then catch the butterfly.
  • 12 of 17: Use the butterfly net on it.
  • 13 of 17: Now, see what you can do with the butterfly to cause problems for the monk.
  • 14 of 17: Try changing the weather patterns around the street corner where he's preaching.
  • 15 of 17: To do this, you'll need to use the butterfly in L-space.
  • 16 of 17: Butterflies are attracted to light.
  • 17 of 17: So use it on the lamp at the street corner.  It will then rain on the monk, and you can take his robe from the clothes line in the alley.
