DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil Hints

How do I make it through the waste tunnels alive?

  • 1 of 8: Notice that just before you enter the waste tunnels, your marine gets and puts on a special protective helmet in a cut-scene.
  • 2 of 8: You also now have a new "enviro" indicator just to the right of your health and armor readout. It indicates how much protection you've got left in your helmet.
  • 3 of 8: This is very similar to how you needed oxygen to breathe out in the Martian surface areas in the main DOOM 3 game. You need to find enviro tanks for your helmet before it runs out.
  • 4 of 8: One place to get enviro tanks is from the special hazmat zombies that are shambling around in the area. Kill them, then take the enviro tanks that they drop.
  • 5 of 8: Quickly kill the cherubs and maggots that appear as you make your way along the walkway and down into the green sludge.
  • 6 of 8: When the mancubus teleports in as you approach the far end of the room, use the chaingun and/or grenades to quickly finish him off. Then go through the two large red slow-opening doors past the point where he appeared.
  • 7 of 8: TIP: If things get too much to handle at once, remember to use the Bloodstone to speed yourself up and make things easier. In fact, you can run around a mancubus and into the next area without fighting him if you do so under the sped-up influence of the Bloodstone.
  • 8 of 8: You're going to have to go through several filth-covered tunnels, each of which has lots of cherubs and maggots in it, and the first two of which have a mancubus at the end. This can be a colossal pain, so remember to use your Bloodstone liberally to help you get through it, and get up on the walkways when you can to find rooms with chaingun ammo and soul charges, plus a few hazmat zombies with enviro tanks.
