DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil Hints
How do I play the Martian Buddy Blaster arcade game in the Commons room?
of 9: As usual, insert four "credits" and hit the start button to begin.
of 9: In this game, you shoot at all the asteroids and things that slowly approach you on the screen.
of 9: Actually, you don't want to shoot *everything.* When you see a "Martian buddy" floating toward you, let him collide with you to add him to your buddies total. Shooting him doesn't make it impossible to finish a level, but it does cost you 100 points.
of 9: Also, there are several bonus items that come flying at you in containers. You only want to shoot the container to release the bonus item, then let the item collide with you. For instance, release the big red first-aid symbols and allow them to collide with you if your structural integrity is down -- they'll help bring it back up.
of 9: Of course, if an asteroid collides with you, that lowers your structural integrity. You don't want that. (Also, there's a bonus item that looks like a yellow star in a red circle that'll damage you, too.)
of 9: You move on to the next level when your "buddies" total is as high as the stated max value. (5/5, for instance.)
of 9: So basically, you carefully shoot asteroids and bonus containers and let everything else collide with you for as long as you can stand to play this "game." Have fun!
of 9: If you persevere and finish all five levels of the game, you'll get an e-mail in your PDA that congratulates you and gives you a real-life Internet web address to go to in order to get a "special gift."
of 9: For those of you who don't want to have to play the dumb game to get the address, it's: http://www.martianbuddy.com/blaster.html
