How can I open the locked door that's past the jammed-open garage door?
1 of 9: Have you tried clicking on the "click to scan PDA security level" button on the door's red panel?
2 of 9: Do so to learn that you'll need Marcus Tanner's PDA to unlock the door.
3 of 9: It's not lying around in this area, so go back under the jammed-open garage door and see where else you can go.
4 of 9: Find the stairs in the corner and climb them to reach an upper walkway that leads to a room.
5 of 9: Inside the room, you can talk to R. George (the guy hiding in the lockers), but that doesn't help any.
6 of 9: Find and pick up the PDA in the corner of the room opposite R. George's.
7 of 9: That's Tanner's PDA, so you now have the security clearance you need to get past that locked door you were at earlier (but note that several imps will appear while you're on your way back there).
8 of 9: NOTE: There's a video disk in the room with the PDA that has a briefing on the grabber gun if you want to take the time to watch it.
9 of 9: TIP: That jammed-open garage door is going to lower down to where you can't crawl under it anymore soon after you move on past the locked door, so before you do that, use the grabber to move any loose health packs and armor shards that are still in the starting area to where you can get to them after the garage door is impassible. (If you're careful and keep trying, you can also drop small items into the Ancient Portal room despite the invisible "anti-item" force field over its entrance.)
