DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil Hints

New Cheat Codes

  • See the main UHS hint file for DOOM 3 to learn how to use the console and all the cheats that were available in the main game. Below, I only list the new codes and information for this expansion.

Here are the new weapons you can give yourself with the "give" command. Note that the three Bloodstone codes are for the three powered-up versions that you get throughout the course of the game. The #3 version gives you sped-up time, berserk mode, and invulnerability all in one package.

    weapon_grabber
    weapon_shotgun_double
    weapon_bloodstone_active1
    weapon_bloodstone_active2
    weapon_bloodstone_active3

You can give yourself "ammo" (meaning soul charges) for the Bloodstone with the command: give ammo_bloodstone_normal.

There are several new monsters that you can summon up with the "spawn" command.

    monster_zombie_hazmat
    monster_flying_forgotten
    monster_flying_forgotten2
    monster_demon_vulgar
    monster_demon_d3xp_bruiser
    monster_hunter_helltime
    monster_hunter_berzerk
    monster_hunter_invul

Here are the new map codes. Remember to use "game/" in front of a code, as in: map game/erebus3.

    erebus1         erebus2          erebus3            erebus4         erebus5
    erebus6         phobos1          phobos2            phobos3         phobos4
    deltax          hell

You can play through the entire main DOOM 3 game with the double-barrel shotgun and grabber gun by entering "map game/mars_city1" on the console (w/o quotes) and then giving yourself the new weapons using the codes listed above. The Bloodstone can also be used, but it's a little tricky. You'll first have to enter these two exact commands:

    give weapon_bloodstone_passive
    give weapon_bloodstone_active1

After that, you can enter the active2 code for berserk power or the active3 code for invulnerability (or both codes to get both powers). To actually use it, you'll have to give yourself soul charges since there are no "soulful" corpses in the main game. It would be very convenient to bind the charge-giving command to a key, as in: bind g "give ammo_bloodstone_normal". That way, you could just hit G whenever you needed a charge.

But be warned, the expansion won't know what the chainsaw or the soulcube is, and that's kind of bad since you can't finish the game without the soulcube (but you can play right up to the end, having fun with the grabber, double-barrel shotgun, and Bloodstone).

As for modifying DEF files, installing the expansion reorganizes a lot of the stuff in the old PK4 files. For instance, in the main DOOM 3 base directory, you'd look in PAK000.PK4 for the weapon and monster DEF files now, not in PAK004.PK4 (which is where they were before being moved). As for the expansion's DEF files, they're in PAK000.PK4 in the "d3xp" directory (which is in the same place as the old "base" directory).
