DOOM 3 Hints
Now that it's working, how do I use the service lift?
1 of 5: The lift can be moved forward and backward, and it can be turned left and right. That's what the four large touchpads on the main lift control screen are for.
2 of 5: The lift can also be raised up in place and then lowered. That's where the up and down arrows on the right side of the display come in.
3 of 5: Besides that, there are three lift stations that you can tell the lift to go directly to by clicking on one of the three lines of text below the movement display. That can be much faster and easier than doing all the moves manually.
4 of 5: Have fun playing around with the lift and seeing where all you can go. Do have a good weapon ready, however, since you will encounter hostiles in several places.
5 of 5: TIP: Experiment with raising the lift at every place it can stop at. Several such places offer secret alcoves of ammo to plunder or otherwise-inaccessible walkways you can jump to.
