DOOM 3 Hints

How can I fix the toxic waste problem in Toxic Waste Processing?

  • 1 of 13: The first step is to get up to the control area in Central Maintenance.
  • 2 of 13: That's not easy, since the stairs leading up there from the lower floor have been destroyed (by that darned revenant, no doubt).
  • 3 of 13: See if there's anywhere else to go in Toxic Waste Processing (besides down into the sludge).
  • 4 of 13: There are a couple of floor segments left sticking into the wall next to an open doorway. Jump to them and go through the door.
  • 5 of 13: Make your way around to a door that leads into Central Maintenance on its upper floor.
  • 6 of 13: Once there, use the computer console to extend the nearby service ladder.
  • 7 of 13: Climb up to the Upper Maintenance Hall and go to the end of it.
  • 8 of 13: Since there are no usable control panels there, look around for a way to continue on to someplace else.
  • 9 of 13: If you look out of one of the nearby windows, you'll see that there's no glass in it, and that there are some large pipes below it.
  • 10 of 13: Crawl out of the window so that you land on one of the uppermost of these pipes.
  • 11 of 13: Move carefully along the pipe until you make it to a ledge with a computer console that has an "Execute Emergency Shutdown" button. Click on it to start the shutdown.
  • 12 of 13: Instead of going back across the pipe, find a nearby ladder and then drop down a hole past it to get back to the upper floor of Central Maintenance.
  • 13 of 13: Then return to Toxic Waste Processing to find that the toxic waste is gone, and you can move around on the floor and reach other areas (including a secret wall niche with security armor and a couple of zombies in it).
