Grenade

When throwing a grenade, you can just tap the attack key to lob the grenade gently or you can hold down the attack key a bit longer before releasing in order to throw it harder. Remember, though, that grenades have 3-second timers -- you don't want to still be holding one when it goes off. Also note that grenades instantly explode when they strike an enemy, even if the 3 seconds isn't up yet, and that they can be detonated prematurely by enemy fire.
Grenades are very useful in a variety of situations due to the fact that they can bounce around corners and can be lobbed over the top of large crates and other obstructions. The fact that they cause significant splash damage can be used to blow up groups of tightly packed monsters or to damage an opponent when you're not sure exactly where he is. Also, when you do know exactly where one is hiding, use that knowledge to plan a grenade attack on him before he sees you again.
