Can I ever get a BFG around here?

  • 1 of 9: Yes, but you have to get past a lot first.
  • 2 of 9: A short ways after the stone-bridge-and-masher room described in the previous question, you'll ascend a sort of stone-and-wood spiral staircase.
  • 3 of 9: After that is a room with a hellknight and several lost souls, followed by another room with a hellknight. Tough stuff!
  • 4 of 9: Following that is a large open area with an ammo stash near a drop-off into the void.
  • 5 of 9: The stash includes a BFG cell. Just past the cell is a little lower-down stone ledge with the BFG gun. It's easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it.
  • 6 of 9: WARNING: As soon as you grab the BFG, a couple of lost souls will teleport in nearby and try to knock you off the ledge. To foil this attempt, stay crouched and pressed against the wall while shooting down the lost souls.
  • 7 of 9: TIP: That ledge is great for hiding on when being chased by hellknights. If you're careful, you can position yourself to where you can shoot the hellknight without it being able to return fire or reach you.
  • 8 of 9: There's another BFG in a secret area behind the big portal that leads to the end-level boss fight. Carefully walk around the edge of the portal and then run up the small path you find to get the BFG and some plasma cells.
  • 9 of 9: TIP: The end-level boss is a major pain, so save most or all of your BFG ammo for him.
