DOOM 3 Hints

I made it to the final battle with the gigantic Guardian. How can I kill it?

• 1 of 9: This is a *major* demonic creature. Your weapons will be completely unable to harm him most of the time.
• 2 of 9: One advantage you have is that the Guardian himself is blind. However, he has several small floating creatures called Seekers that can see you and telepathically relay your position to the Guardian so that he can charge at you.
• 3 of 9: The Seekers are vulnerable to your weapons fire, so concentrate on blasting all of them. (A BFG blast when they're all clustered together would be nice when possible.)
• 4 of 9: When you destroy all of the Seekers, the Guardian has to stop and spawn a new batch of them.
• 5 of 9: He does this by forming a blue sphere of energy right above his body. While he's doing this, you can shoot the sphere to damage him.
• 6 of 9: TIP: He has to go through this process right at first when you appear, so have a weapon ready to quickly blast his blue sphere with (like the good old BFG).
• 7 of 9: Basically, you need to keep finishing off the Seekers and shooting the blue Seeker-summoning sphere until the Guardian falls over dead.
• 8 of 9: TIP: Once again, your weapons and ammo will all be taken from you when you leave the level, so use 'em all to their fullest advantage now without trying to conserve ammo for later.
• 9 of 9: TIP: The only way I survived this battle was to know where all the health packs were hiding. Look around the four major pillars in this area (which can also be used for cover) to see which one has the health near it. Visit it whenever you need to to keep alive.
