DOOM 3 Hints

Zombie Commando

  • Health: 170
    Attack Damage: 12 from tentacle and various melee attacks
    First Seen: Monorail

    These are the most powerful zombies in the game, along with the zombie commandos who use chainguns. They're undead marines, and they use marine-like tactics to assault you, including running up behind you when you're distracted by other enemies. Their tentacle has a fairly long reach, too. Take them down as fast as you can with your most powerful available weapon.

    If you're feeling very daring (or are very low on ammo), you can try to kill a zombie commando with the chainsaw. The way that works best is to run at one and then duck just as he shoots out his tentacle whip. He has to stand still while his whip is in the air, and can't kick you or move. That's the time to quickly grind him to bits!
