DOOM 3 Hints
How can I open the various locked doors around here?
1 of 15: By obtaining the proper security clearance or using the proper security panel.
2 of 15: You'll need the PDA of a high-ranking person to open some of the doors.
3 of 15: You need to get to the Executive Offices area and find Director William Banks' PDA.
4 of 15: To get there, you need to be able to go through the jammed east door in the Administration Lobby.
5 of 15: Explore around in other areas until something turns up.
6 of 15: The way to get that door open is to head west and north to the Alpha Labs Processing area, and then come back. Imps will tear through the door, thereby opening it.
7 of 15: In particular, this will happen any time after you encounter a high-up fat zombie who throws an explosive barrel at you.
8 of 15: Next, you'll need to get through the locked NW door in the Data Library.
9 of 15: To do that, press the security override button on the monitor on the desk of the small office in the NE corner of the library. (When you do, be ready with your machine gun since your very first "pinky" monster will appear and attack.)
10 of 15: That security panel also unlocks the NE door in the Administration Lobby area, so you now have two routes open to the Executive Offices.
11 of 15: Either head back to the lobby and through its NE door or go through the Data Library's NW door and around that way. You'll end up at the same place either way, but the library's NW door will take you past a Martian Buddy cabinet that contains a chaingun.
12 of 15: William Banks' office is unlocked, but his PDA isn't in it.
13 of 15: It's in the north central office, the one with the evil red growths and floor pentagram.
14 of 15: The PDA is in the pentagram, but watch out for imps appearing when you take it.
15 of 15: Once you've got the PDA, you can open any remaining locked doors in the area, including the one near the NW corner which leads to the exit to Alpha Labs Sector 1.
