How can I make it through the EFR system route?

  • 1 of 16: Pressing "Activate EFR System" on the control screen will cause a platform to appear in the middle of  the gap to the north of you.
  • 2 of 16: You need to take a running jump out to the platform. When you land on it, keep on running and jump again at the last possible instant to make it safely to the other side. (NOTE: If you fall here, you'll survive if you're not too low on health, but do save before trying and restore if you fall.)
  • 3 of 16: In the huge rotating bridge room, jump to the rotating bridge when it's close enough to get to. Ride it around to where you want to get off and then jump to that.
  • 4 of 16: You want to head east to EFR Junction 1, but the door to it is locked. You'll first need to use the rotating bridge to get to the room to the south and use its control panel to unlock the door, then use the rotating bridge to get to EFR Junction 1.
  • 5 of 16: The EFR Storage PT 3's NE door is locked on this route, so you'll have to jump onto a moving platform from EFR Junction 1 to travel onwards.
  • 6 of 16: SECRET: To find a plasma gun and some cell ammo, save your game and then make a jump to a platform just as it's coming out from under the big red pipe. Quickly jump to the pipe and crouch to enter the secret area.
  • 7 of 16: Falling off of this platform means certain death, so watch out for the machines that pop out of the walls and try to knock you off. Also, there are a few rotating tubes on one machine that you may need to hop over or duck.
  • 8 of 16: EXTRAS: As you're approaching the machine with the rotating tubes, look to the left for an alcove that you can jump into for some supplies. If you do this, then wait for the platform to come around again so you can proceed. Also, you can jump onto the rotating tube machine as the platform moves past it and then carefully crouch-walk your way to the back of it to find a stash of stuff that includes security armor. However, it's very hard to get back onto a moving platform after doing this, so you may want to skip it.
  • 9 of 16: Soon after you're past the rotating machine, the platform will lower a bit and then go past a small ledge with a door on it. Be sure to run off onto the ledge as soon as you can.
  • 10 of 16: Past the door is EFR Magnetic Discharge, where you need to descend some stairs and use a panel to initiate a magnetic field discharge.
  • 11 of 16: Climb back up the stairs and find the spot with a gap in the railing.
  • 12 of 16: Looking across the room, you'll see that to get to the other side, you need to make running jumps to two platforms that extended when you initiated the discharge.
  • 13 of 16: The process is complicated by the big yellow rotating things. You'll have to time your jumps so that you don't run into those things and fall. (Also, some imps teleport in when you land on the first platform.)
  • 14 of 16: After you make it across and raid the little storage area, go through the door and hop onto the next (and last) moving platform.
  • 15 of 16: Stay crouched after the platform rises up in order to avoid some machinery.
  • 16 of 16: Shoot the explosive barrels on the large ledge as you approach it, then hop off onto the ledge to find yourself in EFR Junction 6, where the two alternate paths merge.
