How can I get to the little west platform in the Underground Junction?
1 of 12: Have you tried swinging the crane around and riding it? Its control panel is near where D. Young is working on an upper catwalk.
2 of 12: That does you no good, so you'll have to try something else.
3 of 12: After you climb down the stairs and find the door marked "Energy Stabilization," look to the left of the door with the flashlight in hand.
4 of 12: You'll see a medkit on a small rocky ledge just past the railing.
5 of 12: Jump out to the medkit whether you need it or not, then look to the left with the flashlight still on.
6 of 12: You should see that there's a cable attached nearby.
7 of 12: That's what can lead you to the west platform, so carefully make your way onto it.
8 of 12: After you get across, be careful not to fall off the end of the cable, but to instead jump over the rail and onto the west platform.
9 of 12: Now you can get an armor shard from on top of some stacked crates.
10 of 12: Also, you can use the computer terminal there to return the crane to its "operator load position." Do so, then climb up the nearby ladder to reach a platform up in the crane that has more armor shards and some shotgun shells. (Note that you have to do this before finding the missing scientist because the crane controls won't work afterward.)
11 of 12: As for the locked door, it can only be unlocked from the Underground Security control room, which won't be accessible until you find the missing scientist and then return. Remember to come back here then, since the storage room has some ammo, including a few early cells for the upcoming plasma gun.
12 of 12: To get back to the main part of the Underground Junction, do your tightrope-walking stunt across the cable again.
