DOOM 3 Hints
Unlocking Nightmare Mode
Type the following in the console to unlock Nightmare mode:
g_nightmare 1
To relock it, enter the same code with a zero in place of the 1.
NOTE: If you enter the code while on the main menu screen, you'll have to exit and rerun DOOM 3 (or start a new game or load a saved game and then quit to the main menu) in order to get the Nightmare mode access updated.
You can switch to Nightmare mode anytime while playing by entering the command g_skill 3 on the console. To switch back to the difficulty you were at before, enter the same command with a 0 (Recruit level), a 1 (Marine level), or a 2 (Veteran level).
You can customize the nightmarishness of your Nightmare mode game with the following three codes:
g_healthtakelimit # - how low your health "naturally" falls over time g_healthtaketime # - how many seconds between health subtractions g_healthtakeamt # - how many health points are taken each time
