Dracula: Origin Hints
How can I read the inscription inside the watchman's mausoleum?
of 16: The inscription is on the floor of the tomb, a meter or so inside it.
of 16: It's obvious that the lantern from the tool shed is what you need to use, but getting it inside is trickier.
of 16: First off, let's light the lantern.
of 16: Use the matches that were in your inventory at the game's outset to light it. To combine items in the inventory, drag the matches onto the lantern.
of 16: Now, we need to find a way to bend the bars to fit the lantern through.
of 16: The bars are made of iron.
of 16: So let's fight fire with fire.
of 16: The way to bend iron bars is with another iron bar.
of 16: There's one in the tool shed that you can use for this very purpose.
of 16: Once the bars are bent, you need to find a way to place the lantern inside the tomb at the back, where the inscription is.
of 16: Your arms aren't long enough to reach there through the gap, so find something else slender enough to transport the lantern.
of 16: Something that Mr. Long didn't end up having use for.
of 16: Use the lantern with the shovel in the inventory to place it on the handle.
of 16: Then, use the new contraption with the bent bars to poke the lantern through to the back so that it lights up the inscription.
of 16: Now, click the inscription, and Van Helsing will copy it into his notes.
