Dracula: Origin Hints

How can I open the sealed book in Dracula's room?

  • 1 of 15: This is a complicated puzzle, I won't lie. A vague clue does exist in the room, but it doesn't give all that much help with the initial stages of the puzzle.
  • 2 of 15: The clue is in a bloody book on the bookshelf at the left of the room. It is on the far right of a shelf (and remember that you can use the spacebar to highlight all active hotspots in the room).
  • 3 of 15: The first thing you need to do is play with the five triangles that make up the points of the star on the cover of the book.
  • 4 of 15: Touch them, and you will notice that you can swap any two of the five around. Doing so makes some of the segments light up, and text appears on them.
  • 5 of 15: The goal is to make text appear on all five inner segments.
  • 6 of 15: Next, you need to light up the text on all of the outer segments of the circle. You can swap these in the same way as the inner sections, by clicking on two of them.
  • 7 of 15: After you have done this, you need to move the five jewels from the inside pentagon to the five points of the star in the right order.
  • 8 of 15: The order is given to you on the hint sheet you found in the bloody book.
  • 9 of 15: They need to be positioned as follows:
  • 10 of 15: Place the white gem in the upper-left.
  • 11 of 15: Place the black gem in the upper-right.
  • 12 of 15: Place the red gem on the right.
  • 13 of 15: Place the blue gem at the bottom.
  • 14 of 15: And, place the green gem on the left.
  • 15 of 15: Once this is done, click the bat one final time to open the book.
