Dracula: Origin Hints
How can I open the door to the Turk's house?
of 28: This is a complicated, drawn-out, and rather annoying puzzle. The solution is long, requiring dozens of moves.
of 28: You are presented with a set of twenty small golden balls on a 10x10 grid, and your job is to position these balls in the same manner as the small pattern below the gears on the left of the screen. The red button below that resets the puzzle.
of 28: You can only move the balls if they have one end free, and moving one will move all balls in that row. Experiment a little and get a feel for what you can and can't do.
of 28: The first hint I have to give you here is that you can totally disregard the first three columns (from the left). You will never need to move any of the balls into them to finish the puzzle.
of 28: Focus on getting the left side of the puzzle done first, in the L shape, then focus on the fork-like right side.
of 28: A full set of moves for the puzzle is provided below. The columns are labeled 1 to 7, with 7 being the right-most, and 1 being the fourth from the left (remember, the left three columns are not used). The rows are labeled A through H, starting with the third row from the top (remember, the top two rows are not used).
of 28: First, push column 2 up once, from the bottom.
of 28: Push the top ball of column 2 to the left once, onto column 1.
of 28: Push column 3 down three times.
of 28: Push the top ball of column 2 to the left once.
of 28: Push column 2 down twice.
of 28: Push row B (the balls on the left side) to the right once.
of 28: Push B4 to the right twice.
of 28: Push C4 to the right once.
of 28: Push D4 to the right twice.
of 28: Push column 7 from the top down twice.
of 28: Push the right side of row E to the left once.
of 28: Push row F to the right twice.
of 28: Push the bottom of column 3 up once.
of 28: Push row G to the right twice.
of 28: Push row F to the right twice.
of 28: Push row G to the right once.
of 28: Push the lowest ball of column 7 down once.
of 28: Push row F to the right once.
of 28: Push the two balls left at the bottom end of column 7 down once.
of 28: Push the last ball on column 7 to the left once.
of 28: Push the top ball on column 7 down once.
of 28: Push row C's right hand side to the right once.
