Dracula: The Last Sanctuary Hints
What am I supposed to do here?
1 of 16: Remember that Seward destroyed the Styx to force Dracula out of hiding.
2 of 16: You should do the same with Carfax.
3 of 16: Look around for tools that you can use and things that you can destroy. You should also be persistent, by trying to use lots of items in many different places. The game is very picky about where and how you use items in this sequence -- in ways that don't necessarily make a lot of sense.
4 of 16: The tools are all fairly close to the entrance from the sewers.
5 of 16: In the room where you enter, look for cloth-covered crates. Remove the cloth and pick up the crates.
6 of 16: Use the crates underneath the stairs, and you can then pick up the hammer, scissors, and ax from the crates. (Don't ask me why the crates have to go here. I don't know either.)
7 of 16: It's time to go smashing things so you can build a fire later. Read ahead to find out which tools to use in which particular places.
8 of 16: Use the hammer on the desk upstairs.
9 of 16: In the room past the study, cut the curtains with the scissors.
10 of 16: And use the ax on the coffin in the basement (the room near the sewer entrance).
11 of 16: Take the two piles of wood and the curtain shreds and put them back in the crates under the stairs. Each item has to go in a particular one of the three crates.
12 of 16: But you can't just throw a match on the fire -- you need to look for something else you can light first.
13 of 16: You even used this item when you were at Carfax the first time.
14 of 16: Go upstairs and head into the study (where the desk was).
15 of 16: If you look around the corner with the screen, you'll find a candle on a candlestick. Pick this up and light it with the matches.
16 of 16: Finally, throw the lit candle on the pile, and the fire will start. Dracula appears just long enough to trap you in the basement, but of course, you can still get out.
