Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints

Where can I get the missing item?

  • 1 of 18: It's on a buried sarcophagus that you'll need to unearth.
  • 2 of 18: In the first temple room, turn to face the entrance of the narrow passageway that leads back the way you came, then turn to the left a bit to find a large interactive pile of dirt.
  • 3 of 18: Click the gear cursor on the dirt twice to get a blue glow to appear on it in a random spot.
  • 4 of 18: When that happens, you'll get a quick flash-image that gives you a hint as to where to look for a hint on what to do here.
  • 5 of 18: That item in the center looked like the train ticket Dr. Florescu showed you right before you came here.
  • 6 of 18: Look for the "railway ticket" item on your Documents page, then click on it to get a view of it.
  • 7 of 18: Point at the blue handwriting on the ticket to see the clue in print at the bottom of the screen.
  • 8 of 18: You're apparently supposed to stab the ground with something, then trace out some ancient symbol in blue light.
  • 9 of 18: Checking your inventory, you'll find that you have a knife. That might do for the ground-stabbing.
  • 10 of 18: Pick up the knife in inventory, then use it on the point of blue light on the ground.
  • 11 of 18: If you click and then hold rather than releasing the mouse button, the blue light will start tracing a line from the point where the knife is.
  • 12 of 18: You'll need to move the knife along to follow the blue light without getting too far behind or going off in the wrong direction (or releasing the mouse button). If you mess up, you'll have to start over at another randomly chosen location.
  • 13 of 18: If you play around with it for awhile, you'll realize that the symbol being traced out is the five-pointed star symbol that's commonly known as a pentagram.
  • 14 of 18: Once you realize that, it may help you to predict the movements of the blue light. You're most likely to mess up when it suddenly changes direction (which only happens when it reaches a new point).
  • 15 of 18: Finishing this "puzzle" can be tricky. It can help to remember that the light always starts at one of the five points of the pentagram, and it always moves in the same direction while tracing the shape out. Once you get a good idea of where all five of the points are, you can predict the light's direction changes, and be ready for them.
  • 16 of 18: The sketch below shows where all five points of the pentagram are, plus the lines that need to connect them. The red arrows near each point show the direction the blue light will go from that point during the drawing process.
  • 17 of 18: After you get the pentagram fully drawn, the buried sarcophagus will be revealed.
  • 18 of 18: Take the shiny stone that's on it, since it's the missing piece to the second room's fancy alcove puzzle.
