Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints
General Tips
1 of 6: The game is organized around Father Arno's objectives list (accessed via the general inventory screen), and so are these hints. Each area's hints are divided up into objectives, and the first hint for each objective tells how and when you get it added to your objectives list.
2 of 6: Some of the objective names are so long that I had to abbreviate them in these hints. Any time you see three periods in a row (...) in an objective name, they're replacing one or more words that I had to leave out. For example, the "Ask Janos if he knows a historian who specializes on vampires (Janos must have an interest in the subject since his hero, Vlad Tepes, inspired the figure of Dracula!)" objective in the Vladoviste (Day 2) section is abbreviated as "Ask Janos if he knows a historian who specializes on vampires ...."
3 of 6: The game isn't quite as linear as the objectives themselves are. They usually have to be done in one specific order, but you can sometimes work ahead on things or do things in a different order. Whenever you encounter something that isn't in the hints for the objective(s) that are currently in your objectives list, you can assume that it's either part of a future objective or that it's just an extra thing that probably won't ever be mentioned in the hints.
4 of 6: As in most graphical adventure games, you need to carefully explore every area and examine every interactive item you can find, talk to everyone you can, etc. You'll get stuck much less often on your objectives if you do all of that very thoroughly.
5 of 6: One thing you may find tricky at first is opening doors. In many games, you can click anywhere on a door to open (or attempt to open) it. In this game, you'll need to click directly on the door's knob or handle -- you usually won't get an action cursor anywhere else on the door (and if you do, it'll be for knocking, not opening).
6 of 6: It is possible to die in the game, especially during day 6, but you don't need to worry about it. Every time it happens, you'll be reset to the point just before you made the fatal mistake.
