Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints
How can I replace the machine's filament?
of 20: Examine the interactive item on the table between the blue and red wires to find that it's the burned-out filament. You'll need to find one that isn't burned out.
of 20: For a clue as to where you can find a replacement, read through the letter that's on the table to the left of the refrigerated cabinet.
of 20: Turn to the last page and read the first paragraph.
of 20: Professor Krüger apparently sent Maria a spare Schwartz filament with one of their "usual messengers." What might that refer to?
of 20: If you've seen the pigeon coop in the back yard, you'll have a pretty good idea.
of 20: He probably tied the filament to a homing pigeon's leg and set it loose, hoping it would reach the dispensary's coop.
of 20: Since the filament isn't lying around loose anywhere, it's safe to assume that Maria never got it, and it's probably still tied to a pigeon's leg.
of 20: Go over to the coop and see if you can find a way to get the pigeon to show up so you can get the filament from it.
of 20: There's a feeding trough on the ground near the coop. What if you put some pigeon feed into it?
of 20: You can get some grain inside the bedroom that's just across from the coop.
of 20: Look just to the left of the door to find a talkative bird with a really creepy voice sitting on a perch.
of 20: Look below the bird to find some grain that you can take.
of 20: Get it and go back outside, then use it on the feeding trough to place it.
of 20: After the pigeons fly down and start eating, notice that the leftmost one has something red on its leg.
of 20: Click on the red thing to take it and find that it's the replacement Schwartz filament.
of 20: Return to the lab and use the new filament on the clamp that's near the top of the sampling machine.
of 20: Whoops! Forgot to sterilize it! Well, you should know how to do that by now.
of 20: Go to the kitchen and use the filament on the pot of water.
of 20: It's not boiling anymore, so you'll have to repeat the process of opening up the stove door and putting in a new bit of firewood from the basket.
of 20: After the water boils, take the sterilized filament and use it on the sampling machine's clamp to place it.
