Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints
How does the Krüger testing process work?
of 20: Pick up the test tube with the blood in it that you want to test, then use it on the interactive spot that's just above the sampling machine's + and - buttons.
of 20: Lower the filament into the test tube by using the lever that's to the left of the filament's clamp.
of 20: As the last page of Krüger's letter mentions, you press the machine's + button to get the filament filled.
of 20: Take the filament and put it on the glass plate of the microscope that's to the right of the sampling machine.
of 20: Click on the microscope's eyepieces to get a magnified view of the filament.
of 20: Notice the small box near the top right corner of the screen with two circles in it.
of 20: Click on the circle with one dot inside it to mark all of the mononuclear granulocytes that are in the filament.
of 20: After you do that, you can see how many of those there are in the sample by checking the number that's displayed above the small box.
of 20: Write that number down, since it's one of the two important test result numbers that you'll need later.
of 20: Then click on the three-dot circle in the small box to mark the rest of the granulocytes. The number at the top of the screen should read 100 after you do this.
of 20: NOTE: You don't need to write down how many polynuclear granulocytes there are, since that will always be 100 minus the number of mononuclear granulocytes, which you've already noted down.
of 20: Exit the microscope view and pick up the filament.
of 20: Use it on the sampling machine's clamp to put it back there, then use the lever to lower the filament back into the test tube.
of 20: Press the machine's - (minus) button to return the marked cells to the blood in the test tube.
of 20: Doing that raised the filament back up, so relower it by using the lever again.
of 20: Press the + button to get a sample of the mixed (marked and unmarked) granulocytes.
of 20: Pick up the filament and put it on the microscope as before.
of 20: When you look into the microscope this time, you'll get a number of marked granulocytes without having to click on either of the two circles in the small box.
of 20: Write down that number, since it's the other important number that you'll need to calculate the test results.
of 20: To get the sampling machine ready for the next analysis, return the filament to its clamp, then lower the filament into the test tube and press the - button. You can then remove the test tube and return it to the rack (by clicking on the rack's empty spot).
