Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints
What are the symbols for each of the seven steps?
of 19: Start by finding the "Map of Turkish prison" document on your Documents page.
of 19: Notice that there's a circle of seven peaks on the map, each of which has been labeled in red ink.
of 19: Use the magnifying glass to get English translations of the peaks' names, and to see that symbols are clearly visible on the three leftmost peaks.
of 19: In order to figure out what steps of the path those symbols go with, you'll first need to match each peak to a step.
of 19: Review the documents you got that are supposed to relate to the first two steps of the path.
of 19: From Stephan Luca, you got the "Crucifixion (Raphaƫl)" and "Blood offering (sketch)" documents, which are supposedly linked to the first step of the path. You also got the "Ox sacrifice (sketch)" document, which is linked to the second step.
of 19: Examining the peak names on the map, you'll see that one of them is called "Mount of Offering," and the one to the left of it is called "Peak of Sacrifice."
of 19: To help confirm this, check the three documents you got off the sarcophagus at Fox's Peak.
of 19: The first two are similar to the blood offering and ox sacrifice sketches, and the third one ("Fox's Flight (sarc.)") is about a fox running away.
of 19: That matches up with the fact that the next peak counterclockwise from "Peak of Sacrifice" is "Fox Peak."
of 19: From this, you can deduce the peak name for each of the seven steps of the path, plus the symbols for steps 2 thru 4, getting:
Step 1: Mount of Offering (unknown symbol) Step 2: Peak of Sacrifice (upside-down crucifix) Step 3: Fox Peak (pentagram) Step 4: Mount of the Punishment (Nazi-like swastika) Step 5: Mount of the Purifying Fire (unknown symbol) Step 6: Mount of Death (unknown symbol) Step 7: Mount of the Dragon (unknown symbol)
of 19: To fill in the missing symbols, you need to refer to two photographs of those mountains.
of 19: Find the "Mountains - Photo" and "Mountains - Microfilm" documents. (Turn to page 2 of the first document to see the photo.)
of 19: Use the magnifying glass on both photos to see what all symbols you can make out.
of 19: You can see a trident-like symbol in both photos, so use it to correlate the other symbols' positions.
of 19: In the microfilm photo, you can make out the symbols of the two peaks that are to the right of (clockwise from) the trident peak. The first symbol looks like the Greek letter pi with its right vertical line extended a bit, and the next symbol looks like a ladder.
of 19: In the small mountain photo, you can make out a sideways hourglass symbol on the peak to the left of (counterclockwise from) the trident peak.
of 19: That's all four of the missing symbols! Due to their positioning in the photos, you can conclude that the symbols of the sideways hourglass, trident, pi, and ladder start at the Mount of Offering and go clockwise from there in that order.
of 19: So now you have all the path symbols figured out! See below for a summary, remembering that it goes counterclockwise around the peak circle.
Step 1: Mount of Offering (sideways hourglass) Step 2: Peak of Sacrifice (upside-down crucifix) Step 3: Fox Peak (pentagram) Step 4: Mount of the Punishment (Nazi-like swastika) Step 5: Mount of the Purifying Fire (ladder) Step 6: Mount of Death (Greek letter pi) Step 7: Mount of the Dragon (trident)
