Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints
Kal'Hirol - Trade Quarter
1 of 10: Go east to the first big room, then turn north to find a couple of darkspawn in a room with a codex-giving wall carving, Hirol's sarcophagus, and some lootable scrolls.
2 of 10: Head east to the next big room and help the battling darkspawn kill each other off (preferably with ranged attacks), then clear out the darkspawn in the room to the north.
3 of 10: Use the north room's north passage to reach the forge area, where more darkspawn groups are battling. As before, hang back and use ranged attacks on them.
4 of 10: Use the south tunnel on the forge's west side to get to the prison, where you'll have to fight some hurlocks, including an alpha and an emissary.
5 of 10: Go through the prison's south doorway to get a cut-scene followed by a fight with several childer hatchlings. Optionally go south from their room to find a runestone puzzle, then enter the west tunnel to be ambushed by childer grubs.
6 of 10: Park your party back in the childer hatchling room, then send someone into the next room to trigger a large childer grub ambush that includes childer grub alphas and a few genlocks.
7 of 10: Search that room's vase and crate, then go south and loot the treasury's five chests before starting down the west tunnel.
8 of 10: There are several small childer grub and hatchling ambushes in the west tunnel, so proceed slowly and deal with each ambush separately. (Also, watch for a pile of lootable bones as you go.)
9 of 10: In the next room, childer hatchlings are fighting invading darkspawn. Stay back and deal with the hatchlings that ambush you near the room's entrance, then wait for the survivors of the battle in the room to come to you. When you enter the room, another grub ambush will happen.
10 of 10: That room's west transition point will take you to the Lower Reaches area. Before you go there, look to the north for a lever you can use to shortcut your way back to the earlier parts of the Trade Quarter. Also, use the room's south transition point to return to the Knotwood Hills so you can go do merchant business, other quests, etc. before entering the Lower Reaches.
