Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints
Should I ally with the Architect or kill him?
1 of 4: If you refuse to ally with the Architect, you'll be trapped in the circular room while fighting him and Utha. That can be a difficult fight, and you'll lose an ally against the Mother. (Though you will get some nice magical items from the bodies.)
2 of 4: It's definitely better to side with the Architect, though doing so will immediately turn Sigrun and Justice against you if they're in your party and you fail to pass tough persuade checks.
3 of 4: If either of them is in your party, you can restore your quicksave and run all the way back to the north end of the Dragonbone Wastes, then travel back to the keep and change your party. That way, you can return to the Architect's room and ally with him without any risk of losing anyone. (This is assuming you saved the keep instead of Amaranthine in Part 3.)
4 of 4: Note that you gain the Architect's Pyre on your new power display when you ally with the Architect. That's his contribution to the battle against the Mother.
