Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints

Combat Tips

  • 1 of 7: The queen's dragon form mostly uses standard dragon-ish attacks like wing buffet, tale swipe, chomping onto a player and shaking him around briefly, etc.
  • 2 of 7: Spread your party out and keep your healer mage the farthest away from the dragon as you attack her from all sides.
  • 3 of 7: Her one special gimmick is that she periodically turns into a small spherical globe and summons several charged wisps to heal her. The more wisps that make it to her, the more she's healed.
  • 4 of 7: Thankfully, the wisps are very slow-moving, so you can tell each character to attack a separate one, or pair them up to double-team wisps. You should be able to destroy them all before any of them reach the dragon sphere.
  • 5 of 7: As soon as they're all down, get everyone to attack the dragon sphere. You'll be able to do it some damage before it can transform back into the dragon.
  • 6 of 7: You could destroy all but one wisp, then have your mage use spells to keep it paralyzed for awhile so your other three characters can get more time to hack on the dragon sphere. This allows you to do the dragon more damage while it's in a form that can't attack you.
  • 7 of 7: NOTE: If your mage successfully casts Curse of Mortality on the dragon sphere right before the wisps reach it, their healing effect will be nullified.
