Pass the inspection.
1 of 5: Enter the officer's armory room to the south and loot the wooden crate.
2 of 5: Talk to the guard that's near the crate and mention the inspection.
3 of 5: You'll then have to pass a persuade or intimidate check (preferably not the one that involves a 15-gold bribe).
4 of 5: Return to the colonel's office and talk to the colonel.
5 of 5: Pass a persuade check to get the colonel to send you out on patrol.
