1 of 2: If you insist on fighting, run your party all the way back to the entry room, then have them hold position there so you can lure enemies in a few at a time.
2 of 2: If they won't ever follow you out of their room, stay in the adjacent room and hit them with ranged damage. (Use the Tempest Tip if you can.)
