Dragon Age: Origins Hints
West Half Tips
of 14: From the west end of the bridge, go south through the tents, then turn left past a ramp to reach the SE corner area. You'll find two sacks there near a praying priest.
of 14: Go back west and look for a locked chest near some soldiers before going back north.
of 14: If you have any ranks in the Coercion skill, you can talk to the guard at Loghain's tent and persuade him to let you talk to Loghain, which will get you a codex entry.
of 14: Go north to the dog kennels to get the "The Mabari Hound" optional quest if you're not a human noble.
of 14: Check next to the wall just south of the "Korcari Wilds" exit to find an elfroot plant.
of 14: Go up the ramp north of that exit to enter the infirmary area, then look on a bench next to a priest for a scroll you can read to get a codex entry.
of 14: Talk to the priest and Jory if you want to, then look to the north for a locked chest.
of 14: Just east of the chest is a prisoner in a cage that you can get the "The Hungry Deserter" optional quest from.
of 14: Go down the infirmary area's east ramp, then turn left to find the quartermaster's area, which includes a locked chest.
of 14: Talk to the quartermaster to check out both of his inventories. His regular inventory includes such useful items as healing poultices and injury kits, and his "other goods" include some more expensive stuff that you probably won't be able to afford.
of 14: Talk to Daveth if you want to, then wait around until an elven messenger shows up. Talk to him and say he's in trouble, then try to persuade him to give you Ser Garlen's new sword. (Sell it to the quartermaster to raise money if you're not a sword user.) If the messenger doesn't ever show up, try searching around the camp after finishing up everything else.
of 14: Go east from the quartermaster's area to find a tranquil standing next to a locked chest. Talk to the tranquil to get a codex entry, and note that this is the chest that the key from the hungry deserter quest will open (though you can't open it with the tranquil standing there watching you).
of 14: Look south of the tranquil for a mage named Wynne. Talk to her to get another codex entry, then go up the ramp near the quartermaster's area to reach the northern section.
of 14: Go to its west end to find a locked chest near some servants.
