Dragon Age: Origins Hints
Central Area Optionals
of 11: A bit NE of the northern-most of the three big ponds is a "wilds flower" near the base of a moss-covered tree. It's needed for the "The Mabari Hound" quest. (Note that there are other such flowers scattered around, but you only need one. In fact, the others will disappear when you take any one of them.)
of 11: There's an elfroot plant near the NE corner of the same pond.
of 11: Look in the large darkspawn camp west of that pond for a chest that includes Rigby's field journal. (See entry #308 in the quest-related section of your codex.)
of 11: Look for a Chasind trail sign next to a moss-covered tree just south of the camp. (Note that it's only there after you get Rigby's journal.) Carefully move the cursor around until you can right-click on the trail sign to examine it.
of 11: A short way SE from the trail sign is another elfroot plant.
of 11: Check your area map to see that the next Chasind trail sign is a ways north of the camp. Go over and examine it like you did the first one.
of 11: Check the map again to find two more trail signs way down south. Examine both of them, then go get the two that appear to the NE.
of 11: Grab the elfroot that's next to the southern of those last two signs, and loot the locked chest and three wooden crates that are next to the other one.
of 11: There's a deathroot plant on the opposite side of the large log that's near two of those crates, though you'll have to go around to get to it since you can't cross the log.
of 11: Look on the lower ground a bit to the south of the deathroot plant to find one more elfroot plant.
of 11: Go east from the area with the last trail sign to find a locked chest and a dead body that you can get the "Last Will and Testament" quest from.
