Dragon Age: Origins Hints
LOTHERING: Bandits on the Road
1 of 6: You get this quest the first time you travel to Lothering. (NOTE: This entire quest is all stuck in under the one objective of "Deal with the bandits taking advantage of travelers," so these hints won't have an objective list.)
2 of 6: Paying the bandits doesn't work (they'll just get greedy and demand more), so you'll have to either fight them or intimidate them.
3 of 6: If you want to intimidate them, refuse to pay, then use the intimidate-related option. After that, you can use a persuasion-related option to extort a bit of money from them.
4 of 6: That won't finish the quest, but it's no problem -- just raid one of the two nearby crates to turn all of the bandits hostile so you can fight them. (Or tell them that their 20-silver "donation" isn't enough. That'll turn them hostile right away.)
5 of 6: Either concentrate your attacks on the bandit leader for a quick resolution, or kill all of the other bandits first for more XP.
6 of 6: After the leader surrenders, tell him to hand over everything he's stolen, then quiz him for info before either killing him or letting him go. (I suggest killing him for more XP and loot.)
