Dragon Age: Origins Hints
Find a way to free Sten.
1 of 4: Go to the south half of town and enter the Chantry building.
2 of 4: Find the revered mother in her NW corner room and talk to her about releasing Sten.
3 of 4: If you have Leliana with you (or go get her and come back), all you have to do is ask for Sten to be released into your custody.
4 of 4: Otherwise, you'll have to either pickpocket the key from the revered mother, or pass a persuade or intimidate check in dialogue to get it. (Or have someone pick open the lock on Sten's cage.)
