Dragon Age: Origins Hints
Proving Loyalties
of 12: NOTE: This entire quest is all stuck in under the one objective of "Make sure Everd wins the Provings," so these hints won't have an objective list.
of 12: Exit Beraht's shop and run up the nearby stairs.
of 12: Go south along the large walkway to reach the door to the Proving Grounds.
of 12: Talk to the Proving Guard and show him your pass in order to make the door usable.
of 12: Once inside, talk to Duncan and examine the statue near the center of the room for a codex entry before looking for Everd.
of 12: Go down the north passage, then enter the small southwest room to find that Everd is too drunk to fight.
of 12: In the conversation with Leske, you'll realize that it's up to you to fight in Everd's place.
of 12: You'll then have to decide whether or not to go ahead with the plan to drug Mainar.
of 12: Take everything from the armor chest in Everd's room, then equip his armor and helmet to make yourself look like him. You can also equip some of his other stuff, including his weapons.
of 12: Go down the east passage and talk to the Proving Guard, then nod your head to indicate that you're ready for the fights to begin.
of 12: After you defeat Mainar, you'll have to fight Adalbo and Lenka. Remember that they won't be drugged even if Mainar was.
of 12: After you finish all three combats, Everd will stagger into the arena, exposing you as an imposter. Choose whatever dialogue options you want, then wait through the cut-scenes to get the next quest.
