Keep looking for the thief.

  • 1 of 5: Since the receipt is related to the Proving Grounds, go to the Orzammar Commons and enter the Proving area.
  • 2 of 5: The guy you're looking for is Fixer Gredin.
  • 3 of 5: He's up in the northern area, which is inaccessible until you get the "A Lord's Trust: The First Task" quest.
  • 4 of 5: Talk to Fixer Gredin to immediately start a fight with him and his thugs.
  • 5 of 5: Search Gredin after killing him to get the stolen Shaper book.
