Dragon Age II Hints

Where can I find drakestone rocks?

  • 1 of 12: In the Bone Pit region on the Free Marches map.
  • 2 of 12: Travel there and go over to the east side of the area to find an entrance to the Drakestone Mines.
  • 3 of 12: Choose who to accompany you besides Anders, then check the starting cave room for two lootable corpses, a drakestone deposit, and a giant spider attack.
  • 4 of 12: After all of that is dealt with, go through the east doorway and down some stairs to be attacked by more giant spiders.
  • 5 of 12: Retreat up the stairs a bit to fight them, then check the north end of their area for a deep mushroom, and the south end for lootable bones and a drakestone deposit.
  • 6 of 12: Return to the starting cave room and go south to find a crate and some bones to loot, then go down to the start of a large path loop.
  • 7 of 12: Loot the crate near you, then go east to find another crate and a drakestone deposit.
  • 8 of 12: Move along the east part of the loop until you find some bones in a doorway, then have your characters hold position there. Send someone into the big cave past the doorway to cause some spiders (including a monstrous one) to drop down, then run him back to the group.
  • 9 of 12: Move everyone back from the doorway if necessary to keep the monstrous spider from being able to get to them, then kill off all of the other spiders before getting everyone after the monstrous one.
  • 10 of 12: Search the cave to find a lootable corpse and a drakestone deposit, then go through the doorway at its west end to enter the west half of the path loop.
  • 11 of 12: Check the little side passage on the left for a locked chest, then go up the stairs and over to the base of some more stairs to be attacked by a few spiders.
  • 12 of 12: Past the next stairs is the final drakestone deposit. After examining it, go back to the SW corner of the path loop and up some stairs to find an exit.
