Dragon Age II Hints

Javaris has fled the city. Follow him using the tunnels that lead from ....

  • 1 of 8: Go east from the barker and then turn south to find the entrance to the Smuggler's Cut area.
  • 2 of 8: Enter it and move forward to spot some Carta thugs in the area to the left. Run along the path and down some stairs to reach them, then watch out for more thugs plus an assassin appearing during the battle. (Note that they're vulnerable to cold damage.)
  • 3 of 8: Go through the doorway on the north side of the lowest ground and on to a place where a large wooden framework is hanging by chains. Look nearby for a lootable corpse, barrel, and sack, then go after the next group of thugs.
  • 4 of 8: After they're finally all killed off, look for a crate and a locked chest at the north end of their area, then go through the doorway in the NE corner and down a narrow passage. You'll meet a mercenary archer in the passage, plus another archer and a couple of thugs just past its other end. (Note that the mercenary archers are more vulnerable to nature damage than cold damage.)
  • 5 of 8: Loot the bones and silverite deposit in the area past the passage, then look for a chest with a companion gift item in it near some stairs. As you go for the chest, you'll be spotted by the thugs, archers, and assassin that are in the room to the SW.
  • 6 of 8: Finish them off, then search the large area past them for a pile of bones, a chest with a rune design in it, a crate, a deep mushroom, and a locked chest. Go back north and up the stairs, then use the exit doorway to go outside.
  • 7 of 8: You'll come under attack by several mercenaries, including archers, as soon as you appear outside. More mercs, including an assassin, will join the fight as it progresses.
  • 8 of 8: When it's over, you'll have a conversation with Javaris that'll get you the next objective. You'll also be able to decide whether to let Javaris go or kill him, though it doesn't really matter (except that Aveline and Sebastian won't like killing him).
