The Way It Should Be
1 of 9: With Aveline in your party, travel to the Sundermount Ambush Site that's now marked on the Free Marches map.
2 of 9: Move along the wide path until you encounter a few raiders, including an assassin. After they're down, look for two small side paths with piles of bones to loot. (Check the area map to help you find them.)
3 of 9: Go west at the path split to find a similar group of raiders at another path split, then look around for loot before heading west.
4 of 9: As you start west, look for a side path on the right that leads to a pile of bones. Loot them, then go back down and move west slowly until a group of raiders (including an assassin) appears ahead of you.
5 of 9: Have your rogue find and disable a couple of traps if you want, then use the nearby map exit to travel to the Viscount's Keep on the Kirkwall Day map.
6 of 9: Go to Aveline's home base area at the south end of the keep, then activate the east door to get a brief cut-scene.
7 of 9: Examine the nearby duty roster to get another cut-scene, then travel to Lowtown on the Kirkwall Night map.
8 of 9: Go south to the Foundry District, then use the area map to help you pinpoint Guardsman Donnic's location. Approach him to start a combat with some Coterie thugs (including an assassin-like leader).
9 of 9: Look for a lootable crate near Donnic, then return to the Viscount's Keep and head back to Aveline's base area to get the quest-ending cut-scene. After that, talk to Aveline to get a friendship boost with her.
