Dragon Age II Hints
The Unbidden Rescue
1 of 6: After finishing the "Long Way Home" main plot quest, you can get this one by reading a leaflet in Hightown's market or by going to the Viscount's Keep and approaching the viscount's office area. (Note that if you read the flyer, you'll still need to visit the keep and talk to Seneshcal Bran.)
2 of 6: NOTE: On the way, you may get the encounter that gives you the "Blackpowder Promise" main plot quest if you haven't gotten it yet. After scouring the pass area for loot, use either of its map exits to finish your journey to the Wounded Coast.
3 of 6: See the Wounded Coast Loot Tips if you haven't explored the area yet. The only thing that's different for this quest is that the guy you're after is down in the southern-most part of the south branch area. (Also, you'll encounter Tal-Vashoth on the way to the south branch's start even if you cleared the area earlier.)
4 of 6: When approach Saemus, you'll get a brief conversation followed by a combat with Ginnis and a few mercenaries. Focus on taking Ginnis down, then finish off the mercs.
5 of 6: After a brief cut-scene, a huge force of mercs will start appearing in the area to the north. Quickly run your party as far south as they can go, then have them hold position there while your melee fighter(s) draw opponents in a few at a time. (Be sure to reset their positioning following a mid-fight cut-scene.)
6 of 6: After it's all over, tell Saemus that you want to look around, then pick up any loot the mercs dropped. When you're ready to go, talk to Saemus again and say so to get the quest-ending conversation.
