Birthright
1 of 10: Finish the "A New Home?" main plot quest to get this one, then talk to your mother in Gamlen's house. You'll then need to talk to either Bethany or Carver, whichever one wasn't killed during the prologue.
2 of 10: Travel to Darktown and go south to a big path intersection area. Kill the thugs there (if this is your first visit), then head east. After turning north, look for the entrance to the Amell Estate cellar in the SW corner of the room with the "gather your party" gimmick in it.
3 of 10: After choosing which companions you want besides Bethany or Carver, loot the entry room's barrel and move into the next room to find a crate. While going for it, several slave guards will appear and attack you.
4 of 10: You need to go west, but the doorway at the top of the west stairs are blocked, so go north instead. (After checking the east room for a barrel and a crate.)
5 of 10: In the next room you come to, you'll be attacked by a few more slave guards and a slaver assassin. Like all assassins, he has several tricks, which include disappearing and then reappearing in a different spot.
6 of 10: The next room you come to will have a very similar fight, along with a web trap. It's likely to be triggered by the first person to enter the room, and will incapacitate him briefly.
9 of 10: Turn left past the door, then loot the chest in the SW corner of the room to get the will. You can then say "let's go" to Bethany or Carver to leave and get the quest-ending conversation right away, or you can say "not yet" so you can stay and loot the cellar some more.
10 of 10: If you stay, check the room for another chest and a codex item, then go up the stairs to the north to reach a door that'll take you to Hightown's square. Travel to Gamlen's house to get the quest-ending conversation, then talk to Bethany to get a friendship boost.
