Bait and Switch

  • 1 of 9: After finishing the "A New Home?" main plot quest, you can get this quest by accepting the "Bait and Switch" letter that's on the writing desk in Gamlen's house.
  • 2 of 9: Travel to Lowtown on the Kirkwall Night map, then find Anso the Contact on the east side of the bazaar. Talk to him and agree to get his goods back.
  • 3 of 9: Exit the house to be attacked by several Tevinter hunters, followed by a few slavers (including a mage). After that's over, try to leave the alienage to meet up with Fenris.
  • 4 of 9: Agree to help him, then travel to Hightown on the Kirkwall Night map and go down to the Hightown Estates area to meet up with him. After he forces his way into your party, you'll enter Danarius's Manor automatically.
  • 5 of 9: Level Fenris up and check his equipment, then take control of your rogue and open the door on the other side of the entry room. After he disables the trap that's just past the door, enter the room to start a two-wave combat with shades.
  • 6 of 9: Past a couple more doors is a large room with a three-wave combat that includes lots of shades and a rage demon. It's definitely best to have your party hold position in the previous room and send someone in to trigger the combat and lure enemies out. (Especially since there's a poison gas trap in the middle of the room's floor.)
  • 7 of 9: Go up the stairs to find that the door to the Magister's Chambers room is locked.
  • 8 of 9: When you open the door, an arcane horror and some shades will appear in the room behind you. Quickly team up on the horror, then finish off all the shades.
  • 9 of 9: After Fenris leaves, loot the three chests in the Magister's Chambers, then head back to the exit. When you leave the mansion, you'll have the quest-ending dialogue with Fenris. (Note that he hates mages, so choose your dialogue options carefully if you want to avoid getting rivalry points with him.)
