What should I do with a tome when I find one?
1 of 6: Examine it to get your options, which include destroying it, reading it, and taking it.
2 of 6: No matter what choice you make, some undead and/or fade creatures will appear and attack you, so be ready for that.
3 of 6: If you take a tome, it'll be added to your inventory as a junk item that you can sell to a merchant for a little bit of money.
4 of 6: If you read a tome and accept its deal, your main character will get two free attribute points, but the quest will stall eventually. (Also, you can only do that with one tome.)
5 of 6: The best choice for all five tomes is to destroy them like you're supposed to. You'll even get another chance at two free attribute points after you do.
6 of 6: NOTE: Destroying tomes will earn you rivalry points with Merrill, so you won't want to have her around if you're trying to develop a friendship with her.
