Dragon Age II Hints
Pick Up Pickaxes
1 of 5: After finishing the "Cavern of Dead" quest, travel somewhere else and then return to the Bone Pit region to get Jansen to reappear outside the mines. Talk to him to get this quest.
2 of 5: Go to Lowtown during the day and head down to the Foundry District.
3 of 5: Look for the guy named Smith who's standing right next to the "Armor Merchant" store.
4 of 5: Talk to him about the pickaxes and tell him you have sovereigns in order to buy them.
5 of 5: If you have 15 gold coins, hand them over to get the pickaxes delivered and finish the quest. Don't bother returning to Jansen or Hubert for reimbursement, since you won't get it.
