Dragon Age II Hints
Lord Friedrich is somewhere in the Gallows Courtyard area. Find and kill him.
1 of 5: Look for Friedrich south of the courtyard, in the Gallows Market area.
2 of 5: Approach Friedrich to get him to talk to you, then say that you came to talk or to kill him.
3 of 5: If you say you came to kill him, he and his guards will immediately turn hostile. (And you'll get some rivalry points with Aveline.)
4 of 5: If you say you came to talk, you'll get several dialogue options. If you choose "very well," Friedrich will give you 2 gold coins and then run, leaving you to fight his guards (use the same combat tips as above). The other options get you a fight that includes Friedrich.
5 of 5: If you accept Friedrich's bribe, you won't be able to finish Meeran's task, and will have to switch to working on Athenril's. Also, you don't get as much gold from the bribe as you can from Friedrich's remains.
