King Alistair
1 of 3: You can only get this quest if you chose the "Hero of Fereldan" or "The Martyr" history (or loaded a Dragon Age: Origins save in which Alistair became king) while customizing your character at the beginning of the game.
2 of 3: After finishing the "On the Loose" main plot quest, accept the letter of the same name that's on the Hawke Estate's writing desk to get this quest.
3 of 3: Put Aveline and Anders in your party to enhance the encounter a bit, then travel to the Viscount's Keep to meet the king. The quest will end when the conversation does.
