Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints
Once I'm past the dog, how can I actually get inside the hotel?
1 of 12: You may notice that there's a door to your right as you're in the backyard and coming through the locked fence.
2 of 12: But unfortunately, that door is locked, and there doesn't seem to be any way of picking your way through that.
3 of 12: There is, however, another entrance to the hotel that you might find if you look around carefully.
4 of 12: Go back down the ladder into the canal and look around there.
5 of 12: You should see a boarded-up window with a little light shining through it.
6 of 12: That window isn't as sturdy as the door, so you might be able to get through it instead.
7 of 12: Even once you can climb the dumpster up to reach the window, you still need a way of opening the window.
8 of 12: Something in the backyard will come in handy here.
9 of 12: There was also a small toolshed in the backyard, towards the far left as you were coming from the gate. If you didn't get it before, you'll have to go back into the backyard, sneak past the dog one more time, and then open the door on the shed to find it.
10 of 12: Again, try to keep quiet by moving only when the train is passing -- I'd be careful to open the door at the correct time, in addition to being careful about when you walk.
11 of 12: Once you've opened the toolshed, you should see an axe inside. Take it.
12 of 12: Climb back up the dumpster, and then use the axe on the boards to break through the window. You'll now be in the hotel's boiler room.
