Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints
I've gotten past the wheel, but all I see is a dead end.
1 of 14: Once you've gotten up the wheel, you should cross a short bridge. Part of it will collapse under you, but that isn't much of an obstacle.
2 of 14: Stand near the gap, and a jump icon will appear. Click on that to cross safely.
3 of 14: But yes, if you go across the bridge, up the ladder, and through the next archway, you may see what looks like a tunnel that dead ends.
4 of 14: That's because you don't have the proper key to see what you need to.
5 of 14: You've only seen one sort of key in these caves.
6 of 14: The glowing egg you used to start the water wheel.
7 of 14: Once you have the egg in hand, you may see three symbols in the wall once you reach the end of the tunnel. (You don't need to use any action icon to make this happen -- just make sure that you have the egg in your inventory.)
8 of 14: Try pressing those symbols.
9 of 14: There seems to be a sound associated with each symbol -- high, medium, and low from left to right.
10 of 14: As you might guess, there's some sort of tune that you need to play. As soon as you press the symbols four times, the game will replay what you entered -- which would indicate you need to find a pattern of four notes.
11 of 14: You've already heard this before. The only question is whether you remember it.
12 of 14: You need to play the notes that you heard after activating the water wheel. As far as I could tell, the only way to repeat that sequence is to reload a saved game, so if you don't remember, you may just be better off reading ahead in these hints.
13 of 14: The correct pattern is high, middle, high, low -- or left, center, left, and right in that order.
14 of 14: Once you press the correct notes, a door will magically open in the wall. Walk through it.
